October and November have been great reading months for me. I read more non-fiction and made a few changes that helped me read 15 books in 2 months. December has been slow but that is mainly because I was visiting family and got held up with other commitments.
When I came across this tag Kristina Steiner’s blog I knew it would be a perfect way to share my reading habits which might also help some one (may be it won’t but the tag is fun anyway). If you aren’t following Kristina’s blog I highly recommend that you do. Link here.
Now to the actual tag,
How many books do you usually read at once?
2 books at a time. I have one audio-book and one e-book/physical book that I read. This is a new habit that makes me feel super productive.
Audio-books in general have been game changing for me in the past 2 months. They’ve not only helped me be involved with a book while doing household chores but helped me devour a lot more non-fiction books. I find that audio-books help me go through non-fiction in lightening speed.
Do you ever switch bookmarks while you are partway through a book?
For me bookmarks are any flat surface that I can find around my house. So yes, they keep changing all the time depending on the scrap of paper that I find at the moment. I’ve used things like my phone, headphones and spoons as bookmarks too. Who needs the fancy stuff?
Where do you keep the book(s) you are currently reading?
They are with me most times. If I am out then they are in the bag or else they are with me in whichever room I am in. You never know when you want to read, right? Besides they are very comforting to look at 🙂
What time of day do you spend the most time reading?
I have to go to work so night time is when I do most of the reading. I also started waking up early the past 2 months and dedicate 30 minutes to 1 hour in the morning to reading. It makes me feel good about my day ahead.
How long do you typically read in one setting?
It depends. But I generally need breaks after about an hour, I tend to watch a Youtube video in between or do a tiny chore and then get back to reading.
Do you read hardbacks with the dust jacket on or off?
Dust jacket ON. I am scared that I will misplace or damage the dust jacket.
What position do you mainly use to read?
I sit when reading a physical books. With audio-books the possibility is endless, you might find me doing yoga too 😛
Do you take the book you are currently reading with you everywhere?
How often do you update your Goodreads progress on the book you’re currently reading?
Whenever I remember. But since the time I started reading every morning I also got into the habit of updating it once every morning after finishing to read.
